Email Settings

Updated over a week ago

The Email Settings section lets you customize how automated Property Intelligence emails are sent to your members, including branding, app links, and verified sender details.

To access your settings, go to Settings → Email in the admin dashboard. You’ll see two tabs: Configure and Verify Domain.

Configure Tab

Email Footer

Customize the footer that appears at the bottom of your automated emails - this is a great place for compliance text, NMLS numbers, or Equal Housing Opportunity logos.

You can use standard formatting tools (bold, links, images, etc.) and click Save changes once done.

App Links

Set up your digital banking links to make sure members are routed correctly from Chimney emails into your banking app or website.

  • Desktop URL: The link for users accessing from a desktop browser.

  • Mobile URL: The link for mobile browsers.

  • iOS App / Android App: Direct app links for your mobile banking app.

💡 Tip: If you’re unsure of your iOS or Android app link, your digital app team can provide these.

  • Unique Routing Link: This smart link automatically detects the user’s device and sends them to the right destination (web or mobile app).

Verify Domain Tab

Before sending automated emails from your own domain, you’ll need to verify ownership through DNS.

This ensures your messages are trusted and not flagged as spam.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Add Your Email Domain

Enter the domain you want to send from. For example, yourcreditunion.org.

  2. Update Your DNS Settings

In your IT or domain management tool, add three CNAME records exactly as shown in your Chimney dashboard.

    Each record has:

    • Type: Always CNAME

    • Name: The host or alias field (e.g., s1._domainkey)

    • Value: The destination provided by Chimney (e.g., s1.domainkey.u123456.wl123.sendgrid.net)

Important: These records must be entered exactly as shown. Even a small typo can prevent your domain from verifying.

  3. Wait for Verification

After adding the records, click Verify domain. Once verified, you’ll see a green Verified badge.

  4. Configure Sender Name & Email

    • Sender Name: The name your members will see in their inbox (e.g., “My Home Tracker by [Your Institution]”).

    • Email Address: Choose the prefix (e.g., [email protected]).

The Preview box below shows exactly how your emails will appear once sent.

Once verified, all automated campaigns (welcome series, alerts, etc.) will send using your verified domain for a fully branded experience.
