FAQ: What counts as a new calculator?

This article explains how you can use calculators, what counts as a different calculator, and what counts as the same calculator.

Here are a few common questions to clear up any questions about calculator usage.

Read this first: We bundle our calculator templates together so you can purchase a bundle of 10, 20, or all access (40) calculators. When you purchase a bundle, you get access to that number of calculators. For example if you purchase a bundle of 10 calculators, you get access to 10 calculators. Each of these calculators are published via a publishing snippet which is generated automatically in our platform. Each snippet is associated with a specific calculator and will return separate analytics. When you purchase a bundle, you are getting access to that number of publishing snippets. For example, if you purchase a bundle of 10 calculators, you get access to 10 calculator publishing snippets. If you want to issue a new calculator, even if it is a variation of an existing calculator, that needs a new publishing snippet and needs to be purchased.

Q: Can I use the same calculator in different places?

A: Yes - you can use the same calculator on as many different parts of your website as you'd like as long as you are using the same publishing snippet. If you want to "clone" a calculator and make changes to it, you will need a new publishing snippet to go live and that will count as a new calculator.

Q: I'd like to use the same template and make some minor changes, does this count as a new calculator?

A: If there is a new publishing snippet, then it counts as a new calculator. If you duplicate a calculator template and make changes, it counts as a different calculator (even if it is based on the same template). These changes may include rates, branding, CTAs, or other inputs.

When you issue a new calculator, you will receive a new publishing code. This means that we are tracking a new calculator with separate analytics.

Q: Can I translate calculators into Spanish? Does that count a whole new library of calculators?

A: Yes we do offer Spanish calculators if you already have a library in English. We charge 50% of the original cost to add on Spanish calculators. For example if you are on a Pro 10 plan and you want to also publish 10 Spanish calculators, you will pay 50% of the original price to add on Spanish calculators.

Q: If I already purchased a calculator template, can I re-use that for free? For example, "If we purchased a loan calculator, and we want to add another loan calculator, do we have to pay for the additional calculator even though we already paid for that template?"

A: Yes, if you are issuing a new publishing snippet, that counts as an additional calculator. If you are duplicating the calculator with changes, it counts as a different calculator. These changes may include rates, branding, CTAs, or other inputs.

Q: What if I have multiple websites?

A: If you are issuing a new publishing snippet, that counts as an additional calculator. If you are duplicating the calculator with changes, it counts as a different calculator. These changes may include rates, branding, CTAs, or other inputs.
